Phebe Estelle Spalding (1859–1937) was an American educator, scholar, and writer whose career was closely defined by her dedication to higher education. Active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Spalding established herself as a significant academic figure through her work at Pomona College. At the institution, she served as a professor of English, helping to shape the early literary and humanities curriculum.\n\nIn addition to her instructional duties, Spalding took on vital administrative responsibilities that contributed to the development of the college's campus life and academic resources.
