Frank Preston Stearns (1846–1917) was an American author, critic, and active abolitionist. Operating during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Stearns contributed to the American literary landscape through both his critical writing and his social advocacy.
Stearns was particularly well-regarded for his biographical studies. Over the course of his career, he focused much of his literary output on chronicling the lives of significant historical personalities, establishing himself as a notable biographer of prominent American and Italian figures.
