Cynthia Stockley was a South African-Rhodesian novelist active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born Lilian Julian Webb, she later adopted the name Cynthia, which she used both personally and professionally.
Stockley is chiefly remembered for her romance novels, which were typically set against the backdrops of South Africa and Rhodesia (the region known today as Zimbabwe). Through her fiction, she brought the landscapes and colonial-era settings of southern Africa to life for her readers.
