Aasta Hansteen, also known as Hasta Hanseen, was a Norwegian painter, writer, and pioneering early feminist active during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.\n\nBorn in 1824, Hansteen developed a multi-faceted career that bridged the visual arts and literature. Through her work as both an artist and an author, she became a prominent voice in Norway's early feminist movement, advocating for women's rights and social progress before her death in 1908.
