Amélie Claire Leroy (1851–1934) was a French author who carved out a distinctive niche in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries by writing extensively in the English language. Throughout her literary career, she was highly prolific, publishing more than sixty works. To present her writings to the public, she frequently adopted the pen name Esmé Stuart, a pseudonym under which the majority of her English-language books were released. Despite her French heritage, Leroy's decision to write predominantly in English allowed her to connect with a different literary market. Her extensive bibliography reflects a dedicated career of literary output, spanning several decades until her death in March 1934.
