Ernest Archibald Taylor (1874–1951), widely recognized as E. A. Taylor, was a versatile Scottish artist and designer whose career encompassed both the fine and decorative arts. Born in September 1874, Taylor developed a highly diverse creative practice that allowed him to work across multiple mediums and disciplines throughout his lifetime.

As a visual artist, Taylor was accomplished in several traditional formats, working extensively as an oil painter, a watercolourist, and an etcher. Beyond his achievements on canvas and paper, he was also a prominent designer. His design work was highly varied, encompassing the creation of furniture, complete interior designs, and stained glass windows. Through this integration of fine art and functional design, Taylor established himself as a significant figure in the Scottish creative community before his death in November 1951.
