Patrick Traverse is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman whose career spanned North American and European leagues. Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the third round of the 1992 NHL entry draft, Traverse joined the organization in 1993. Over his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), he played 279 games, representing five different franchises: the Ottawa Senators, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, and Dallas Stars.

In 2009, Traverse transitioned to European hockey, joining the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in Germany. There, he competed for the DEG Metro Stars and the Hamburg Freezers. On the international stage, Traverse represented Canada at the 2000 World Championship.
