George Turner (1818–1891) was an English missionary and writer who was active in Samoa and other areas of the South Pacific during the nineteenth century. He is best known for his written works documenting his travels, missionary life, and observations of the Pacific islands. In 1861, he published Nineteen Years in Polynesia: Missionary Life, Travels, and Researches in the Islands of the Pacific, which was followed in 1884 by his historical and cultural account, Samoa A Hundred Years Ago and Long Before.
