George Putnam Upton (1834–1919) was an American journalist and author whose career spanned the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Over the course of his life, he contributed to the literary and journalistic landscape through his original writings and editorial work.
In addition to his career in journalism, Upton was a prolific translator. He is particularly noted for translating numerous works of German literature, helping to bring these texts to English-speaking audiences.
