Metta Victoria Fuller Victor (1831–1885), who frequently published under the pen name Seeley Regester, was a highly prolific nineteenth-century American novelist. Born in March 1831, she emerged as a pioneering figure in the popular publishing industry of her era. She is widely recognized for her immense contributions to early American popular fiction, particularly through her extensive work in the dime novel format.
Throughout her active writing career, Victor authored more than one hundred dime novels, helping to shape and define the boundaries of this emerging literary market.
