Gandrothu Veera Venkata Vinayaka Rao, professionally known as V. V. Vinayak, is a prominent Indian film director and screenwriter who has made a significant impact on Telugu cinema. Born on October 9, 1974, Vinayak established himself as a leading filmmaker specializing in high-energy action dramas and action comedies. His career is characterized by commercial success and a distinct style of mainstream storytelling.
Vinayak made a highly successful directorial debut in 2002 with the action film Aadi, which became a major commercial blockbuster. The film's critical and commercial reception earned him the prestigious Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director. He quickly followed this success in 2003 with two major hits, Dil and Tagore. The latter, a powerful social action drama, set box office records and emerged as the second highest-grossing Telugu film of its era, solidifying his reputation as a bankable director.
Over the subsequent decades, Vinayak continued to deliver a string of commercial successes, including Bunny (2005), Lakshmi (2006), Krishna (2008), Adhurs (2010), and Naayak (2013).
