Ellen Ballance (née Anderson; 1846–1935) was a prominent New Zealand community leader and suffragist who dedicated her life to the advancement of women's rights. Active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Ballance worked both locally and internationally to promote the cause of women's suffrage, establishing herself as a key figure in the global movement for political franchise.

On the international stage, Ballance served as a vice-president of the Women's Progressive Society, a suffrage organization based in London that sought to unite advocates across borders. Locally, her leadership was instrumental in organizing women in New Zealand. In 1893, she became the inaugural president of the Wanganui Women's Franchise League, guiding the local organization during a crucial period for the women's suffrage movement in her home country.
