Sir Sydney Philip Perigal Waterlow was a British diplomat who represented the United Kingdom in several key international posts during the late nineteenth and early to mid-twentieth centuries. Born in New Barnet in 1878, he dedicated his career to foreign service during a period of significant global transition.
Waterlow's diplomatic assignments included serving as the British Minister to Thailand, Ethiopia, and Bulgaria. His career culminated in his appointment as the British Ambassador to Greece, a position he held from 1933 until 1939. He passed away in Oare, Wiltshire, in 1944.
