Shirley Hankins (1931–2025) was an American politician who dedicated several decades to public service in the state of Washington. Born on November 9, 1931, Hankins represented the state's 8th legislative district over multiple terms spanning from the early 1980s into the late 2000s.
Her legislative career in the Washington House of Representatives began in 1981, where she served continuously until 1990. Following this initial tenure, she transitioned to the Washington State Senate, representing the 8th district in 1990. She later returned to the Washington House of Representatives, serving another extended term from 1995 until 2009. Hankins passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 93.
