Born in 1868, he established a reputation for acquiring and trading cultural objects from around the globe.\n\nWebster is most notable for his collection of artifacts taken during the 1897 Benin Expedition. After British troops seized these materials, Webster gathered them into a significant collection, which he subsequently dispersed through his activities as a dealer until his death in 1913.
