Throughout his career, Wells published his work in various magazines, occasionally writing under the pseudonym Gene Ellerman to navigate the diverse market of pulp fiction. His speculative fiction was later compiled into two collections published by the Fantasy Publishing Company, Inc.: Planets of Adventure and Doorways to Space.
