John Foster, 1st Baron Oriel (1740–1828) was a prominent Anglo-Irish politician who played a significant role in the political landscape of Ireland during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.\n\nThroughout his career, Foster held major positions of state, serving three times as the Chancellor of the Exchequer of Ireland. He is also historically distinguished as the final speaker of the Irish House of Commons.
