Emma Howard Wight was an American author and newspaper correspondent active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in 1863, she initially wrote occasionally for her own amusement after completing her education. She was eventually induced to publish her writings by her friend, Bertha von Hillern, which launched her professional literary career.

Wight's articles appeared in various newspapers and were extensively copied across different publications. Her numerous theological articles, in particular, attracted wide public attention and established her reputation as a serious commentator. Alongside her journalistic endeavors, she became a prolific creator of serial novels and dramatic works.

Her published books and plays spanned several genres, including the 1891 novel Passion Flowers and the Cross and the 1892 one-act emotional drama The Soul of Edmund Jaffray. Her subsequent novels, such as My Husband, A Loveless Marriage, The Little Maid of Israel, The Berkleys, and Like No Other Love, further demonstrated her versatility as a writer. She continued her literary and journalistic activities throughout her life until her death in 1935.
