Belle-Île, also known as Belle-Île-en-Mer, is a French island situated off the coast of Brittany in the Morbihan department. It is the largest of Brittany's islands, located approximately 14 kilometres from the Quiberon peninsula.\n\nAdministratively, the island is partitioned into four communes: Bangor, Le Palais, Locmaria, and Sauzon. It previously constituted its own canton until 2015, when it was merged into the canton of Quiberon during a general administrative overhaul.
