Adele Williamson is a New Zealand biochemist and academic whose research focuses on the DNA repair systems of bacteria living in extreme environments. By investigating how these extremophiles survive and maintain their genetic integrity under harsh conditions, her work contributes valuable insights to the fields of biotechnology and medicine. She currently serves as a senior lecturer at the University of Waikato.
To conduct her scientific investigations, Williamson has traveled extensively to remote regions, including Norway and Antarctica, to collect bacterial samples.
