Sir Daniel Wilson (1816–1892) was a distinguished Scottish-born Canadian academic who achieved prominence as an archaeologist, ethnologist, and author. Born in Scotland, he later relocated to Canada, where he continued his scholarly pursuits and contributed significantly to the academic landscape of both nations. Throughout his career, Wilson was recognized with numerous honors, including fellowships in the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and the Royal Society of Edinburgh, as well as a Doctor of Laws degree. His work as a writer and researcher helped shape early anthropological and archaeological discourse in the nineteenth century.
