Eric Wilson is an American musician and bassist who rose to prominence in the late 1980s and 1990s as a founding member of the influential ska punk band Sublime. Born in 1970, Wilson's distinctive bass lines became a defining element of Sublime's signature fusion of reggae, punk rock, ska, and hip-hop, contributing to the band's massive commercial success and enduring legacy in the alternative music scene.\n\nFollowing the tragic dissolution of Sublime in 1996, Wilson continued to shape the Southern California reggae-rock sound. He co-founded the Long Beach Dub Allstars, performing with the group from 1997 to 2002, and later played with Long Beach Shortbus from 2002 to 2007. These projects allowed Wilson and his former bandmates to keep their musical traditions alive while exploring new creative directions.\n\nIn 2009, Wilson embarked on a new chapter by co-founding Sublime with Rome, a collaboration with singer and guitarist Rome Ramirez. Serving as the band's bassist until 2024, Wilson helped introduce the classic catalog of Sublime to a new generation of fans while also recording new material. Throughout his decades-long career, Wilson has remained a cornerstone of the American ska punk and reggae-rock movements.
