Henry Augustus Wise (1819–1869) was an American writer and an officer in the United States Navy. Born on May 24, 1819, Wise balanced his military service with his literary pursuits during the middle of the nineteenth century.
Throughout his life, Wise maintained a dual career as both a naval officer and an author. He served his country in a military capacity while also contributing to the literature of his era. Wise passed away on April 3, 1869.
