Joanna Ellen Wood, who was sometimes known by the name Nelly Wood, was a Canadian novelist active around the turn of the twentieth century. Born in 1867, she achieved significant commercial success through her literary career. By the year 1901, Wood had become the highest-paid fiction writer in Canada, marking a notable achievement in the nation's publishing history. She passed away in 1927.
