Farnsworth Wright was an American poet and editor who is best known for his influential work with the pulp magazine Weird Tales. He served as the editor of the publication during what is widely considered the magazine's heyday, overseeing the publication of 179 issues from November 1924 to March 1940. His significant contributions to the development of the genre led science fiction writer Jack Williamson to praise Wright as "the first great fantasy editor".\n\nIn addition to his well-documented tenure from the mid-1920s to 1940, Wright is also identified as having served as an editor from 1925 until May 1950. Throughout his life, Wright actively pursued his own writing as a poet alongside his extensive editorial responsibilities. His career remains a cornerstone of early fantasy and pulp magazine history.
