The L Word: Generation Q is an American drama television series produced by Showtime. Running for three seasons from December 2019 to April 2023, the series serves as a sequel to the original drama The L Word, which aired from 2004 to 2009. Like its predecessor, the show chronicles the lives, relationships, and experiences of a diverse group of queer friends living in Los Angeles, California.
Following its premiere, the series was renewed for a second season in 2020 and a third season in 2022. However, following low viewership during its third season, Showtime canceled the series in March 2023 and subsequently removed it from its streaming platforms the following month.
