Joseph Harold Dockweiler, who wrote under the pen name Dirk Wylie, was an American science fiction author and literary agent active during the mid-twentieth century. Born in 1920, Wylie's career was cut short by his early death in August 1948.\n\nDespite his brief life, Wylie made his mark on the early science fiction community. He was a member of the Futurians, a highly influential group of science fiction fans, writers, and editors based in New York during the 1940s. Through this network and his professional work, he contributed to the development of the genre during its formative years.
