Katherine Merritte Snyder Yates was a Canadian-American author who wrote during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is primarily recognized for her contributions to children's literature, dedicating much of her creative career to crafting stories for younger readers.
Born in November 1865, Yates later relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1910. She resided and worked there for over thirty years, eventually leaving the islands in 1942. Yates passed away in October 1951, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated children's writer.
